(1) What is a shot-crete Pool?
A "Shot-crete" pool is concrete applied with a high pressure spray, to a steel reinforced frame. The concrete will be trucked in wet to the site.

(2) Do I need building permits?
Yes, and Water Planet Pools will obtain all necessary permits through the appropriate building department and/or environmental health agency. If it is necessary to obtain a variance, the client will be responsible for any required fees. We will also prepare plans for the Homowner's Architectural Committee.

(3) What are the permit requirements?
Every county has different requirements. Water Planet Pool Co. obtains all necessary permits for your community. All counties require a survey plat. It's needed to determine if there are any property setbacks, flood plains or utility easements. Your closing attorney or title company can provide you a copy if you didn't receive one at the closing. If neither of these sources can provide a plat, we can recommend surveyors who will prepare a new one for a nominal fee.

(4) Are you insured?
All our employees and the few subcontracting companies we do use are fully insured for General liability, property damage and workman's compensation.

(5)Is it hard to maintain a pool?
About 10 – 15 minutes a week for the average pool. A little more if you have a lot of trees and no screen. There are also automatic Acid feeders (PH) and chlorination systems, that constantly monitor the water and add chemicals when needed. There are also non-chemical solutions available for those who prefer not to use chlorine.

(6) Can my spa use my existing gas line?
Very rarely will the existing line be large enough. Your pool will probably need its own line.

(7)Are there any other charges?
There are no other charges unless you decide to add an option during the construction process. But, there may be unseen circumstances that can add to the cost of your project: a large limestone (rock) formation, artifacts, an underground spring or contaminated soil, for example. While we can deal with such obstacles, they will add costs to your original estimate and could also delay the completion date.

(8) Do you also landscape when the pool is complete?
We leave landscaping to the landscapers. We do not provide landscaping in house. Although, We do coordinate with a local professional nursery/ landscaping company if the clients request it.

(9) Do we have to put up a fence?
A screen can act as a barrier to the pool instead of a fence. Subdivisions have their own certain requirements. Your Architectural Review Board or Management Company can give you details, but they should be listed in your covenants.

(11) Will I need pool service?
If you or your neighbors have a lot of shedding trees, then you may need one. If you use a pool cover and do not have a lot of debris falling into your pool, you can maintain your pool with a minimum of time spent on a weekly basis.

(12) What is the warranty on the pool?
Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for a period of TWO years from the day of completion. We also guarantee that the pool will be structurally sound as long as the buyer owns the home. If the pool will not hold water, we will repair it so that it will. Pool equipment has extensive warranties of their own from the manufacturer. We stand behind all the products we sell.

(13) Do you do tree removal?
Water Planet Pool Co. will arrange it, or you may contract independently.

(14) How long does it take to build a pool?
The average time is 8-10 weeks. Some projects are done in as little as 6 weeks. Additional time is needed for elaborate custom projects. We use project managing software to help us control every project from start to finish. However, for an accurate timeline, contact us.

(15) Do you provide financing?
Yes, we do. We can help you arrange financing. We still recommend you shop around a little to be sure to get the best deal. View our financing page for more info or click here to apply for financing online.
